In my recent posts about happiness and success, another important aspect of personal development has been constantly mentioned ? positive thinking. And here?s my brief reflection on this.

To think positive doesn?t mean that I should become a Pollyanna. It doesn?t mean that I need to see the world as if there?s nothing wrong with it.
It doesn?t mean that I should think that I don?t have or won?t have any problems anymore. It doesn?t mean that I should just ignore my trials. Not at all.
Thinking positive, in fact, means that I have to acknowledge both the blessings and the challenges. And this is what makes the task difficult.
Because it?s always much easier for me to think about only the pleasant things. And because it?s often more convenient for me to blame the situation or the person next to me. But these easy solutions only lead to not just negative thoughts, but also negative actions ? procrastinating, deceiving, and so on.
And if I think that blaming myself is one heroic deed. I should think again.
Yes, I need to admit my mistake. But it doesn?t stop there. And pondering over that thought too long that I can?t move on anymore is something else. I?ll surely fall into the same thoughts and actions that aren?t oh so positive.
Positive thinking should lead to doing what I have to do. I should stop asking ?Why did this happen?? or ?Why me?? In times of trials, doing so will just bury me into deeper into depression, low self-esteem, or self-pity.
Positive thinking means focusing on things that will help me move forward, have a fruitful life, and not waste my time, talents, and treasures. It means that I?m not useless ? that I?m here for a purpose. What could be more positive than that?
