DENVER (AP) ? President Barack Obama says Republicans who want to repeal his health care overhaul want to take the country back to policies more suited to the 1950s than to the 21st century.
Speaking to a largely female crowd of 4,000 at a campaign event in Denver, Obama said repealing the health care law would take away insurance from millions of young people, force senior citizens to pay more for prescription drugs and make it harder for people with pre-existing conditions to get insurance.
Obama said his Republican rival, Mitt Romney, and Romney's GOP allies in Congress should not decide who gets access to health care.
The president says decisions that affect women's health are not up to politicians or insurance companies. Said Obama: "They're up to you."
