Israel to give Obama 'Presidential Medal of Distinction' during March visit

Sadly, Pretend President Willard M. Romney was overlooked.

As pretty much every Republican in elective office will tell you, President Barack Obama is the most anti-Israel president in American history. Or:

When President Barack Obama visits Israel next month, he'll be awarded the Presidential Medal of Distinction, Israeli President Shimon Peres' office announced Monday.

Obama, the first sitting U.S. president to receive the recognition, will be awarded the medal for making "a unique and significant contribution to strengthening the State of Israel and the security of its citizens," according to a release announcing the news.

AP adds that "Peres and the committee behind the award noted Obama?s overall friendship and backing of the Iron Dome missile defense system."

Obviously, the moral of the story here isn't that Republicans are full of malarkey. It's that Israel is now its own worst enemy?except for President Obama, of course. And now it's up to Congress, which has the Constitutional authority for approving and disapproving "presents" from foreign nations, to save Israel from itself.
