Be very careful how and where you decide to store your precious metals. Some things to consider:
- The fewer people you tell the better. The more the people know about your goods only increases your chances for it to get stolen. This includes friends, relatives, financial institutions, and the government.
- Add layers to the stash. If you keep it at home, the more layers to get to your metals the better. If is just laying out in the open you are inviting it to be stolen. However, if it is buried underground, covered with plank wood, then a rug, and a big couch over it, then it is more secure.
- Carry in mutiple places. Consider storing your gold in mutiple places. Have it in a safe deposit bank, at home in mutiple places, in a foreign storage location, in a segregated storage facility. So if one were to ever get compromised, you'll always have more.
- Stay diligent. Always be on the lookout for ways to hide and store your stuff. Thieves are advancing you need to advance with them or face the music when it gets stolen.
